A post on Paul Sloan “The Key” blog talks about Apple finally getting control or buying out the domain name iPhone.com. Apparently, iPhone.com use to point to a website that had a bunch of ads on it that sold cell phones, however the website did not sell iPhones, go figure. It was probably a MFA (Made For Adsense) site.
The question here is how much did Apple pay for the domain name? Unfortunately, this information was not available from the blog. I imagine it was probably in the tens of thousands or maybe even six figures….who knows. That domainer scored big on the sale of iPhone.com.
