This is quite huge as a piece of news in the technology industry. Hewlett Packard / HP to get out of consumer computer business…wow. It would seem that their PC business has been suffering for quite a while, despite being one of the top 3 vendors in the computer market.
I know that HP has been suffering in terms of reliability with their laptops according to the last two years of laptop reliability surveys. Anyway, this will kinda change my mind when it comes to getting my next laptop, it might not be an HP laptop simply because if they are selling the computer unit of their business, HP will not be putting too much focus into it and it could be another company buying up that business in the short future.
Generally, the transition phase of a buyout is hell for the customer.
