A Positive Job Recruiter Meeting

by Das Brain

Job Centre The meeting with the job recruiter yesterday went very well. I was able to tell him what type of job position I was looking for, how much I was willing to work for, where in the greater Toronto area and what type of industry I would like to work in.

This was a great relief in some respect because now I finally know that a job recruiter has acknowledged me and that my credentials have been placed into their system. The largest headhunting agency in the world CNC Global has now got my number.

The recruiter seemed to be a very nice gentlemen and the first thing he told me was that he operates on straight commission, which means that he doesn’t get paid until he finds me a job which I have to stay at past the usual 3 months probationary period. I think he has to disclose those details by law or something like that, but this also means that he is going to be trying very hard to find me a job which fits my work experience.

I left there feeling better about my future. As an individual who is going through the experience of being laid off work for the first time ever in 11 years of professional service, I am still trying to deal with all the different types of emotions and thoughts that comes at me from no where like anger, depression, panic and self worth. All I know is that I have to deal with these emotions quickly, look to the positive aspects and keep moving on forward. This meeting with the job recruiter was a positive thing and it made me see the light at the end of the tunnel.
