Currently .com, .net, .us, .org, .info, .name, and .biz domains cost me $6.99 USD. However, this coming November which is only a few days away, 1and1 will be raising .com, .net, .us, .org, .info, .name, and .biz domain prices to $8.99 per year. That is a $2 difference, quite a bit…28.75% increase to be exact.
This will definitely, impact my bottom line. Having 140 domains with 1and1, this works out to be $280 USD of additional cost. Which means, all my domains will have to earn an additional $280 per year to cover domain name expenses.
For now though, I am not going to move any of my domains to another Registrar, as I am quite familiar with 1and1’s platform and other companies are charging fairly close to $9 USD anyway. so, the value to move is just not there.  If anything, I might start cancelling some non-performing domains.
