by Das Brain

stock option trader at trading system with multi monitor 4 screensOn August 16 there was a stock market correction, and where there is turmoil there is opportunity.  I opened quite a few CALL contract positions during that time and then left for vacation, when I got back 2 weeks later at the beginning of September the market recovered and the stocks I bought option contracts for did recover as well.

Below are some of the most profitable trades:

The total of the trades above is roughly $4334 USD as the Canadian dollar is pretty much on par. The remaining amount of the $1687 USD September trading profit were made up of dozens of small trades with profits ranging from $20 – $400.

The trading profits for September 2007 were calculated by adding all trades that closed in September of course. As you can see if was helped greatly by buying selective companies shortly after the stock market correction in mid August and then selling or closing those positions when the stock market rose in September. Please note that the stock market rose in September because we are currently in a cyclical BULL market, things may be different in a BEAR market condition.

Although, my September 2007 trading profits was the best I’ve brought in so far, I am not celebrating. It is what it is, and has a lot to do with the stock market condition and in some respect my improving trading skills.

In September my win loss ratio was 23 profitable trades and 3 losing trades which is 88.5% profitable trade and 11.5% losing trade. I can attribute the above statistics to my deligent reading as many books I can on becoming a better trader and by trying hard not to break my own rules of trading that I’ve learned by reading those books.

So far, I’ve read 4 books, and now going on my 5th. There is no need to celebrate good trading results as the market is ever changing, I just take it as it is, which is that by following strict trading rules and my own way or system of trading I can bring in consistent results. The importance is always on consistency.
