Most web saavy individuals have probably already heard of Google’s free 411 service offering, but if you haven’t heard yet here is some info on Google’s new service.

The service was introduced a while back (few weeks ago) and I for one am glad they introduced it, because with Goog-411 you can find out phone number listings for just about business in any city you are in across Canada and the U.S and all from your cell phone. I’m particularly happy about this FREE Goog-411 service because currently the Canadian cell phone network of Rogers Wireless that I am with charges I think about $0.75 CAD each time you dial and use regular 411 service with them. So, if you need to find business phone listings from your cell phone let’s say 3 times in a month, that will add an extra $2.25 CAD on to your cell phone bill. That sucks.

Now with Goog-411, I can find out a business phone number when I am in a pinch, whether I’m in Toronto, Vancouver or Mountain View, California from my cell phone and all without worrying about how much the call will cost me.
