Valentine’s Ideas That Won’t Break The Bank

Valentine's Day Dinner - save money on Valentine's

Your special someone is one of a kind, so it’s only natural you’ll want to choose a gift or plan a dinner that reflects how special and unique they really are.  Below are some great tips on finding Valentine’s Day gift in the current tough economic times without spending a fortune.

Express Yourself:  Take time to write down how you really feel, then add a few poems and pictures to create a book they will cherish for a long time. Have it bound, printed and delivered to your significant other in special gift wrapping.

Serenade: It is said that music is the language of love, so if you are musically inclined, borrow a verse from the past: compose and sing a song or musical score for the one you love, or hire a musician from the local college to do it for you.

Avoid The Crowd At Dinner and Save:  Make dinner reservations for February 13th or 15th for a little more privacy.  One thing about having dinner on Valentine’s Day is that the restaurant are always very very busy.  When you and your loved one get to the restaurant it can be uncomfortably crowded, detracting from the romantic experience.  Also by having a romantic dinner the evening before or after Valentine’s Day you can also save money, as the dinner menu for the 13th or 15th is generally 20 – 30% less expensive than on Valentine’s Day itself.

‭

Get Involved:  Show how much you really care by making a donation to their favourite charity on their behalf; instead of the usual flowers and chocolates, create a gift basket symbolizing the donation.  Be sure to include a gift card letting them know a donation was made on their behalf.

Shine Bright: Adopt a star and name it after your loved one.  For less than the cost fo dinner for two, you can commemorate their unique place in the universe by naming a start after them.

Personalize: Instead of giving an average gift, make something extra special by personalizing their favourite wine, board game or whatever you might think your loved one would like.
