What Lessons Can We Learn From Gatsby? Opulence Before Financial Disaster – Reganomix

If you are a multi-millionaire today you are doing fairly well, but if you are the normal Joe and Jane on the street the current economic policy and job situation in America is not great. To release a movie like “The Great Gatsby” this summer would be to again dangle a carrot in front of the poor to the middle class citizens of America. It is going to end in disaster like it did the last time around.

Hollywood is the propaganda arm of the U.S government and by coming out with films like The Great Gatsby they are hoping to get their citizens to emulate the opulence of the movie. Fueling consumption of houses and material goods and mostly with using debt / credit. Really, what American’s should be doing today is paying off their debt, and learn to live on less to stay out of debt….Oh wait, you know that is really what the U.S Government should be doing as well.

We will see in the next year or so where all this goes. My guess is that just like a stock market has a blow-off top, Hollywood will show movies that signifies the top of a grand economic cycle.

After The Great Gatsby has been released in the next few years the U.S will probably see the greatest stock market and economic crash in history.
