Speculators Drive Up Share Price of Apple Above Analyst Estimates Over Hype Of iPhone

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

Apple iPhone HypeThis post is based on a video from TheStreet.com where Cramer mentions that the iPhone hype has driven up the price of Apple from $90 to $123 (today).  This is an extra ordinary increase in share price of Apple’s stock over the hype of the iPhone.  The phone hasn’t even been released yet and no one actually knows if it will be a success or a flop. He has suggested that if you own Apple you may want to take some money off the table, but leave some shares just in case there may be some upside movement.

Stock Chart and compass

The U.S stock market over the last 3 months have been on a tear, since the first China stock market scare, the stock market just keeps going up, only slowing slightly for a small break downwards here and there, then proceeding upwards. The upward momentum is so strong that the second China / Shanghai stock market correction of almost 7% didn’t even derail its strong momentum upwards.

Stock Market Chart and Flat Screen Monitor

The timing of when to purchase a stock is one of the hardest thing to do. Market timing as it is called, is a skill that generally takes many years to learn and become proficient at. In regards to long term and intermediate trades (holding stocks or options from months to years out), I am quite proficient at this. Most of the time I am correct in determining which direction the stock price will go. However, as for short-term trading (day trading, swing trading), I still have quite a bit to learn and improve in this area.

This day or swing trading process requires so much concentration throughout the entire 9am to 4pm trading day that I haven’t had much time to blog. So, if you thought I fell off the face of the earth…nope that didn’t happen.
