Monday, March 12th, 2007

by Das Brain

Last week I tested and built / refurbished two computers from scratch using Pentium Chips, motherboard, computer cases and RAM from 3 old computers from the east end Toronto City Recycle / Trash station. That was why I didn’t have much time to blog, it was quite a bit of work but the end result was that I saved quite a bit of money and it kept me busy.

Global Market Plunge

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

Glad I wasn’t playing the stock market today, it took a huge hit. Luckily I cleared out of most of my positions a week or so ago and sitting on mostly cash, except for a few PUT option contracts. But that is O.K because they are PUTs expiry in August 2007, I am hedging that the market will go downwards from here on in until July. Have to see what happens the rest of this week in the stock market.

Just Finish Reading The Book “The Electronic Day Trader”

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

by Das Brain

I just finish reading the book “The Electronic Day Trader” for the second time. I bought this book back in year 2001 when the whole day trading thing during the dot com boom was hot and read over it once back then but it didn’t really stick. What I mean by that was what I read kinda just went through my eyes and out my head, I’m sure everybody has read a book before but forgot much of it shortly after. I guess at the time I did not treat it seriously, I didn’t take notes.

Just Finished The DVD Course – Trend Trading To Win

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

I purchased the Trendfund’s DVD a while back last year, and never really had the time to go through the whole thing and take notes until…………well recently 2 weeks ago when I lost my job. The course cost me $234 USD not cheap. But if it helps me make more cash then it was worth it.

In the future I will be posting actual opening and closing stock and option trades that I have done. You are going to see both winning and losing stock and option trades and the exact details of how and when they were executed.

My aim here is to provide the amateur trader information that they can use to determine how they can enter and exit trades, take gains and minimize losses. I will be including charts and diagrams whenever possible so that the reader can make the best judgement.

Kiyosaki Is Right – Mutual Funds Get Greedy

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

I came across this article first thing this morning on Yahoo Finance. It is from Yahoo Finance, and one of its expert panel writers Robert Kiyosaki. I agree with the article simply because I worked in the financial industry for a good six years, and I know that Mutual Funds do take their chunk from the investor in the form of M.E.R (manage expense ratio). This of course cuts into the return of the investor.
