The alarm clock goes off and the pain and agony overcomes your body like a bad case of influenza. Your body aches, you feel anxiety and your mind tries to calculate the cause and effect of this feeling and at the same time trying to come up with a valid reason not to leave the protection of your cozy. You are not sick from a bug, it is actually way worse.

Holding Off On Big Ticket Items / Purchases – 42 inch LCD TV and Computer Hardware
Wednesday, May 13th, 2009
With the way the economy is right now, and the job market so uncertain I think a lot of people are holding off on making big ticket items. As for myself, there are two products I specifically want to purchase…a 42 inch LCD TV and a computer for my Hackintosh project, but will wait until the company I work for make its decisions on laying off more people…so there is no sense in buying a large screen LCD TV to find out later, the company is letting go employees, that would just not be financially prudent. Even if my company doesn’t let me go, I think I may still hold off until Christmas or early next year to make my big ticket purchases.

Swine Flu Knock Out Punch To The Economy?
Thursday, April 30th, 2009
Looking at the my FireFox browser, which default homepage is Yahoo, I can see clearly the the swine flu outbreak has taken over the headlines. When, I go to other other websites like MSN and even to my local area news websites like the Toronto Star, it’s always on the front page and this reminded me of the S.A.R.S incident back in 2003 where Toronto and Hong Kong was affected hard.

Canada Is Not Immune to the Financial Meltdown in the United States
Tuesday, November 11th, 2008
Although Canada has a strong and number one ranked banking system, that doesn’t mean that Canada’s economy is immune to the influence of the U.S financial system meltdown and the United States going down the road towards recession.
With many Canadian businesses either medium or large having most of their business coming from American consumers and companies alike, this economic turmoil that the U.S is going through is currently impacting Canadian business in a big way, and will continue to impact Canadian businesses for the next year or so.

The Galleria Mall in Houston, Texas – Shoe Shopping and Saving
Saturday, May 24th, 2008A week or so ago my wife was looking for a pair of Puma running shoes online and the price she saw in u.s dollars was $90. Just Got My Rogers Wireless RIMM BlackBerry Curve 8310 With GPS Feature From My Company
Monday, May 12th, 2008Just like any other mobile tech worker out there, my company needs me to be accessable at all times. So several days ago, my BlackBerry Curve 8310 finally arrived. What is great about the BlackBerry 8310 Curve is that it is the smallest BlackBerry of the bunch that offers a QWERTY keyboard, so it fits nicely in my pocket or feel less bulky on my belt. Also when I talk with it, it doesn’t look like I am talking into a brick like the BlackBerry Pearl which is bigger.

Back To Planes, Trains and Automobiles – The Travelling Engineer
Tuesday, April 8th, 2008
Today mark the 1st week at my new job. Although working for myself (internet business and trading) was fun over the last 1 year and 1 month it did not necessarily make a lot of money. In the end I realized that making a living trading is very difficult and not everyone can do it. You have very little control over the market and therefore having a consistent stream of income to pay the bills can be difficult. As for the internet business, I realized that this may take some time to build all the websites up to a point where they can generate an income that I can live off of. I am not going to stop those two activities however, I will continue doing those things on a part-time basis from now on, on my own free time.

2007 Was A Volatile Year For Me – Lots of Changes
Monday, December 31st, 2007by Das Brain
Year 2007 as the title of this post suggest was an extremely volatile year for me. At the beginning of 2007 I watched on CNN a gentleman from Hong Kong, talking about the Chinese pig or boar zodiac, and calendar prediction for 2007. The man said that usually years ending with the number 7 are very volatile, and he also mentioned that 2007 has metal, fire and water elements associated with it. Well, when you mix hot metal and water you get a lot of sizzle and volatility and that is exactly what I got for 2007.

Profiting From A Boucing Apple (Apple Stocks) – Option Trades
Tuesday, July 24th, 2007by Das Brain
As promised, here are a listing of option trades I made on Apple (AAPL). Apple’s stock and option contracts are great to trade when it experiences some weakness. When the stock price takes a hit down to near its stock price major support level, and all the technical indicators (MACD, Forecast Oscillator and DMI) on the chart looks to be all in line, I have been buying some DITM CALL option contracts, then selling the options when it rises near AAPL stock price resistance level. Today, AAPL was down in early trading about $5 or 4% to $137.50. However, it has come up a bit since.
