Took me a while but following the instructions found on MacOSXonPC.com, I was able to take an old HP NC8000 laptop my brother gave me and turn it into MacBook clone with light specs.  Great for surfing the internet and downloading without worrying about viruses.

Basically, this better performing HP NC8000 Mac Clone was built to replace my old dead eMac computer.

Well, the used Apple eMac that I purchased last year November went kaput. The power supplied on it died. My wife and I were on vacation in California for 2 weeks and when we got back and I tried to power up the eMac I just heard a clicking sound from within the eMac case, it didn’t even power up the screen or hard drive.

Recently I have re-installed Metastock 10 stock charting program on one of my computers running Ubuntu linux. In case you are thinking “Metastock 10 does not run on Linux”, let me clarify…I am running the stock charting program in a VMWare image of Windows XP. The funny thing is a message comes up when I start Metastock that says something like “This program does not run in virtual machines” however, everything seems to work fine.

This news is a few months old but here goes. The last time the Russians offered Apple clones was back in the days of the Soviet Union.

Despite Apple CEO Steve Jobs complaints, RUSSIANS have started churning out cloned Mac PCs.  Apple has failed to gain any ground in Russia because the operating system and hardware are just too expensive for everyday Russians to afford.  They don’t see the point of not eating for a year just to buy computer, when they have figured out how to clone them for 50% less or more.

I had a really old pc sitting downstairs in the basement, and was thinking about chucking it in the garbage, but then I thought I could revive or breath new life into it somehow, and use it as strictly a downloading machine (Bit Torrent) and Secure (SSH) file server.

Microsoft surprised investors by reporting its fiscal second-quarter earnings early — and the news was not good. The software giant posted an 11 percent drop in profits and said it will slash 5,000 jobs over the next 18 months.

The company said deteriorating global economic conditions and lower revenue from PC software forced it to cut back. The company also said it is unable to provide any profit and revenue guidance for the rest of the year due to market volatility.

Confiker and Downadup computer virus wormRecently there was an article that wrote about a computer virus / worm called “Conficker” or “Downadup” that has infected over 9 million computers and was spreading at an extremely fast rate of 1 million computers a day.

One thing to note is that this Confiker or Downadup virus / worm only infects Microsoft Windows computers, it targets the Windows service RPC Server.
